2391-52 INITIAL VERIFICATION and PERIODIC INSPECTION & TESTING
£890.00 – £1,085.00
Course information:
This City & Guilds course covers the specific methods of inspecting and testing all types of installations, whether single or three-phase, to the current requirements of BS 7671, including inspection and testing techniques as given in the IET Guidance Note 3 and how to professionally complete Certification and Reports.
The 2391-52 course is aimed at qualified electricians who wish to gain qualifications in periodic inspection and testing as well as initial verification of new systems. You should be working in the electrical industry and involved with the inspection and testing process. It is recommended that you already possess the 2382 18th edition qualification, but this is not a City & Guilds requirement.
Please Note: There is limited practical training during this course, therefore we recommend that you attend our additional practical ‘practice’ day.
A 2391 qualification is currently required to gain your JIB grading as an approved electrician.
Please Note: Part of the course will require you to be able to perform some cable calculations without the use of software, so if your knowledge of Basic Cable Calculations is a little out of date, we highly recommend that you attend the one-day course covering this. This is a one-day CPD certified course and gives CPD members seven hours of verifiable activity.
Required publications: Amendment 2 editions of IET BS 7671 Wiring Regulations (£99), IET Guidance Note 3 (£37) and IET On-Site Guide (£35), all three are available from us as a bundle and can be purchased for £160. These publications will be used as course material and are permitted within the exam.
Recommended publication: IET Exam Preparation (Electrical Installations – 2391) £23.00.
This book will include guidelines and advice about sitting the exam; practice examinations, with fully worked and 'model' answers and act as a valuable revision aid, to help students prepare for the full exam. This book cannot guarantee a positive exam result, but it can play an important role in your overall revision programme, enabling you to focus your preparation and approach the exam with confidence.
Delegates will require a scientific calculator for use throughout the course and for the exam. We can supply one at £10 inc VAT if required.
Exams and Assessments: 60 questions, 120 minutes, open book, multiple-choice online exam.
Three practical assessments to include: Visual photo exercise (30 minutes); Inspection and test on main test rig, plus four short written questions.
