2396 Certificate in Design & Verification of Electrical Installations
£930.00
Course Information:
This City & Guilds qualification is intended for personnel in electrical contracting companies who have responsibility for the quality of the design, specification, installation and testing process. It addresses the implications of BS7671 Wiring Regulations; allowing candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for designing and scoping electrical installations.
Training schedule:
As per the dates above, you will attend tuition one day a week over five weeks, returning Thursday evening in week five for the three hour written exam. We will make a training room available at the centre for you to come in from 1pm on exam day, if you wish, to allow yourself quiet self-revision time prior to the evening exam. This will be optional and at no additional cost, but we would recommend you do this to allow yourself time for further revision.
Prior Learning:
City & Guilds highly recommend that you have obtained your 2391-52 Initial Verification & Periodic Inspection Testing and 2382 18th edition (or similar qualifications) prior to attending this course, to ensure candidates have every opportunity of achieving this qualification.
Required Publications:
Amendment 2 editions of IET Guidance Note 3 Inspection & Testing; BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and On-Site Guide - these three publications can be taken into the exam with you. These can be supplied at £99, £37, £35 respectively, or all three for £160.
Recommended Publications:
IET Design Guide: Calculations for Electricians and Designers, £45.50. For the project you may need the IET Electric Vehicle Charging Points Installation Code of Practice £75.00 and IET Guidance Note 1 Selection & Erection £40.00 (this will be advised).
Delegates will require a scientific calculator for use throughout the course and for the exam. We can supply one at £10 inc VAT if required.
Conditions of Booking:
Bookings for this 2396 City & Guilds examination must be submitted to Redford Charles Ltd by no later than six weeks prior to the exam date. Charges for late entries to exams are imposed by C&G, which will be passed on to delegates. The charge for late entry is currently £65.00 + VAT.
Please note: Part of the course will require you to be able to perform some cable calculations without the use of software, so if your knowledge of Basic Cable Calculations is a little out of date, we highly recommend that you attend the one-day course covering this. The course will cover the procedures for designing simple final circuits to meet the general requirements within the scope of the BS 7671 Wiring Regulations. This is a one-day CPD certified course and gives CPD members seven hours of verifiable activity.
Ben Cope –
I have recently completed my C&G 2396 design course at Redford Charles. I have learned so much and it has really given me a greater understanding of BS7671. The staff are really knowledgeable and passionate about their subject.
