CHRISTMAS OFFER: £50 discount for January course
Course Information:
Installation of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic System is a four-day EAL course and includes knowledge and performance units, which between them cover the competencies for the installation of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems and is for qualified electricians only who wish to upgrade their skills.
This is a recognised course, which upon successful completion, enables delegates to apply for MCS accreditation and is the same course as provided by the NICEIC.
This EAL qualification focuses upon the knowledge and occupational competence required to plan and prepare for install (including testing and commissioning) and handover of grid connected solar photovoltaic systems with an electrical output of up to 4 kilowatt peak (kWp) connected to both single and three–phase installations. It is specifically for competent electricians who wish to upgrade their skills and be proficient in the installation of small-scale Solar PV systems.
This qualification in solar photovoltaic (SPV) has been developed to enable the building services engineering sector to play its role in meeting the carbon reduction targets set by Government.
Learner entry requirements:
Learners must have an N/SVQ 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent certification that provides evidence of competence. In addition, if not included in the above, a Level 3 2382 award to the current edition of BS 7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations.Standalone vocationally related qualifications (technical certificates) are not acceptable as an alternative to the NVQ and equivalents listed above. Without the above you will NOT be able to undertake the online exam.
Required publications:
BS 7671 Wiring Regulations, which we can supply at £99; and the IET Code of Practice for Grid Connected Solar Photovoltaic Systems (2nd edition), which we can supply at £75.90
Delegates will require a scientific calculator for use throughout the course and for the exam. We can supply one at £10 inc VAT if required.
Please note: This course does NOT cover the Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS) (Battery Storage). For delegates wishing to gain this qualification we also provide the EAL 610/2091/6 - Design, Installation and Commissioning Electrical Energy Storage Systems course.
