Terms & conditions

Booking a course

You can book a training course with Redford Charles Ltd over the phone, by email, via our website or in person.

Our course pages are kept up to date to ensure the correct number of remaining places are displayed for purchase.

Payment of Course Fees

Payment is required prior to attendance at a training course.

A VAT invoice is provided as confirmation of booking, providing details of the training course, delegate(s) and dates in attendance.  The terms for payment are clearly displayed on the invoice along with the bank details for BACS payment.  Payments can also be made by card by contacting the office (01634 711955) or in person.

When purchasing online, you can pay by debit / credit card or PayPal.  If purchasing by PayPal, you have the option to pay in 3 monthly interest free instalments.

Where payment has not been received after continual contact attempts, Redford Charles may well share data with a third party source for collection of outstanding fees.

Delegates will not receive any certification until payment has been received in full.

LEARNER PRE-REQUISITES

It is the responsibility of the delegate and/or course organiser to ensure the appropriate qualifications are held and the learner pre-requisites are met to attend the training as per the original booking.

The learner pre-requisite details are included on the website page of each course and the course confirmation details provided upon booking.

Refunds will not be provided where the learner pre-requisites are not met and/or evidence of learner qualifications cannot be provided.

Instalment arrangements

There are circumstances where Redford Charles Ltd will offer an agreed instalment payment system at our own discretion.

Full details of the agreed payment instalment plan will be included in the invoice and we require payment on the dates as agreed.  Failure to make such payments may result in services provided being suspended until such time that the outstanding amounts have been cleared.  Redford Charles Ltd reserves the right to demand full payment of any outstanding balance at any time.

Delegates will not receive any certification until payment has been received in full.

Cancellation of Course attendance

Whilst we appreciate that changes in circumstances mean that it is not always possible for delegates to attend the course dates they originally booked, once we have completed your booking we are committed to certain costs and therefore cancellations are subject to the following charges:

If you cancel a course booking 25 working days or more, prior to the course start date, we will charge an administration fee of £50 + VAT per cancellation, per delegate; plus any incurred exam registration costs.

If you cancel a course booking within 25 to 10 working days, prior to the course start date, you will be charged 50% of the original invoice costs.

Any charges will be due from the booking originator (i.e. whether individual or an employer) and where payment has already been made, fees will be deducted from any refund of fees due.

If you cancel a course booking within 10 working days prior to the course start date, for whatever reason, the full fee will be payable as per the original invoice.

Rather than a full cancellation, Redford Charles Ltd may offer a transfer of course dates at our discretion.

On the day of training, should delegates fail to attend there will be no refund.

Cancellation of Consultancy Services

Full consultancy fees will be charged where less than four-weeks notice of cancellation has been received.

Additional Support

If you need additional support due to special educational needs, please make us aware of this as soon as possible for us to approach the exam board for additional support.
To do this we must have a formal diagnosis from a doctor/hospital/specialist on headed paper.  Any assistance offered will be at the discretion of the relevant exam board.

Expected behaviour

Delegates are reminded at the start of each course that they need to remain engaged during the course and are advised to complete the provided homework / revision papers within the given timescales.

Mobile phones are expected to remain on silent and any calls, emails or messages responded to during the allocated breaks throughout the day as necessary to avoid disruption to learning and to that of others within the training room.

Consumption of alcohol or drugs is prohibited.  Any aggressive, intimidating or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated and Redford Charles Ltd reserves the right to ask a delegate or persons to leave the training centre (or any place of work should this occur at an on-site training location) should they feel it necessary.   No refund will be provided should this circumstance arrive.

INCLUSION & DIVERSITY

We adopt an environment which respects diversity and inclusion and means that no persons should feel like they are not part of the Redford Charles Ltd community because of their background, culture, race, religion, gender or sexual orientation.

Absence

Once a course has been started it is the responsibility of the delegate to ensure they attend all dates scheduled to complete the course.  Delegates will not be entitled to a refund should they fail to attend all course dates.

Under exceptional circumstances, dependant for the reason of absence, an alternative date for attendance may be offered at the discretion of Redford Charles Ltd.

Redford Charles Ltd will not be responsible or be expected to offer a refund in the event of a delegate failing to attend training due to extreme weathers, environment issues, public transport issues / cancellations.   Again any transfer arrangements to another date will be at the discretion of Redford Charles.

Exam Resits

Where required, we will schedule exam resits at a time to suit our delegates which coincides with room availability at the training centre.

Resits are charged at £80 + VAT for City & Guilds exams and £90 + VAT for EAL exams.

ENSURING OWN WORK

During enrolment at courses, workshops, qualifications, delegates are made aware that any paperwork produced must be information sourced from learning.

Where additional resources are sought, these must be identified and documented to ensure that it is obvious to the reader that additional resources have been used and that the information included is not being represented as the individuals own work.

This refers in the main, but not solely, to works where an outcome of a paper written exam, project and/or portfolio is produced.

No guarantee of success

Completion of a course does not guarantee delegates the competences to perform work or ability to gain employment in the relevant field and Redford Charles Ltd makes no representation or guarantee as such.  When undertaking any work, delegates must ensure that it is within their competences and seek additional information and advice should they feel it necessary.
